UPDATE: San Francisco ‘Beyond The Pole’ Premiere
I know a lot of you bought tickets to the Friday showing of Beyond The Pole at the film fest in San Francisco, and some of you still haven’t decided if you are going until Alex’s attendance is confirmed… Here’s the thing, he still doesn’t know if he will be able to go yet. His schedule is still up in the air. I think this is just going to be one of those last minute things where he is either going to be there, or he isn’t. You all are just going to have to take a chance.
I also wanted to let you all know that he is trying to get there. He knows some of you bought tickets in the hopes of getting to meet him, too. So, hang tight and cross your fingers. I hope for you all that he’s able to make it. Just go easy on him if he can’t. Like I said, he’s trying.
UPDATE: First off, Alexander sends his apologies to those of you who are going to the Beyond The Pole premiere in San Francisco. I told him how you all were hoping he was able to make it, and how some of you were traveling from a very long distance to be there. He isn’t able to make it, though. He just got his new schedule and it’s simply impossible. He will be on set filming scenes for True Blood until 6 A.M. and then he’s up first the next filming day! He tried, though.

I love that he’s trying to get there! I say, if you have a ticket, just go anyway! The movie looks hilarious!
Exactly! The movie looks great! Plus, you still get to be in a dark room with a naked Alexander Skarsgård.
And who wouldn’t want to be in a dark room with a naked Alexander Skarsgard?
Well, I will definitely be taking the chance. I am crossing my fingers, toes, eyes lol.
I’m grateful that Alexander is trying… anything is better than a definite ‘no, he can’t make it.’ Plus, the film does look very fun.
Thanks for the update, Lilja.
Oh I’m there regardless! So excited!
I hope for the movie’s sake, Alex is able to make it because his appearance might help give the movie the boost it needs. Me personally, I’d go see it anyway (if I lived up there) regardless, but I’ll bet he’ll try to get there.
I hope the movie sells out and it can get more distribution.
Oh and Alex…I TOTALLY appreciate you making the effort to go, I’m not sure how to put into words how happy that makes me! And if you can’t make it…We’ll all love you anyway!
I have all of my 40 will 41..friends that I invited and they all bought tickets to see the movie….but the thought of Alex trying is more than enough..besides the movie is really hilarious!…soo the East Bay people are comin!!..;) and we’re gonna have a great time!
Aw, how sweet is he? I agree about the movie, though. I’d go anyway
OMG, you guys are lucky to be going whether or not Alex shows up. Think of it as a Skarsgirls reunion. lol Alex would be icing on the cake should he show up.
The movie looks funny. Lil, what’s the status for it being shown here on the East coast? I would love to go see it here in NYC and we can make it a Skarsgirls’ night out! I know I saw San Fran and someone mentioned Glasgow as cities showing the movie.
Sometimes living in Ohio really sucks………I guess I just have to keep my fingers crossed that it comes to Cleveland. I would go, if only………………..
Sometimes living in Canada sucks, too, beaker! I hope it makes it here because it looks good. Alex being in it is icing on the cake.
My tickets have been purchased; my bags are packed and I am making the drive from Arizona to San Francisco – yes, out the door and on the road by 6:00 a.m. Honestly, I didn’t think Alex would be able to make it when I bought my tickets – but hey it he is that would be great too. I think I will really like this movie and believe in supporting independent films. See you guys on Monday when I get back.
Aww, I hope he doesn’t feel awful about it. The people going will still get a peek at the movie a lot of us are dying to see
Always a silver lining!
beaker: Living in Ohio ALWAYS sucks.
Everyone else: Thanks for being so understanding! And for those of you traveling to go to the premiere, please do so safely! XO
Living in Portugal doesn’t sucks except when it comes down to this things: movie premieres, tv shows. I have no ideia when will the movie will be release here (if…) so for those that will watch it, you are more lucky than me, believe me.
It is nice that he tried so hard to make it. I attended the IndieFest opening night film tonight at the Roxie and I’ll be down there again on both Friday and Sunday. It is a great time – wonderful films (and wonderful restaurants in the Mission). Looking forward to Beyond the Pole (and other fabulous indie films).
I will be lucky if they release the DVD here in Brazil. To all of you that are going to watch the movie, have fun!
I would LOVE to see the movie! it looks awesome! Aww poor alex! he probably feels terrible about not being able to go!! But he has a valid reason so i think we can let him off with it this time ! haha *sigh* i’ll just have to wait 4 season 2 to start here in Ireland to get my Skarsgard fix!
awww. It’s sweet he tried. I bet the movie will still be fantastic and can’t wait to hear about it.
You know, the up side of this is if he scheduled so much for True Blood, that must mean a lot more screen time.
Well, that is disappointing BUT, totally understandable. I am still excited to go tonight. The movie looks hysterical, and I LOVE the city, so any excuse to hop on over to the Bay is fine by me
Alex would have just been a Viking size bonus. And, it has become a meet-up for me with at least one other Alex/TB fan so, I’m happy
Also, I beleive the director will be there? That will be cool!
Good luck with filming Alex, *waves* if you’re reading!
Hey DSM, I’m still looking for a good restaurant in the mission to eat at before the show tonight, any suggestions? Preferably somewhere close to parking and the Roxie within walking distance?
@KristinCP Last night we ate at a Tapas place called Ramblas. Good food, relaxed atmosphere and tasty sangria. We are eating at Bar Tartine tonight. Both of these places are on Valencia just around the corner from both the Roxie and the parking structure on Hoff. But there are lots of good places in the area from which to choose.

Awww I wish he could be there, but I totally understand why he can’t, I love him for trying.
I’m still going. I’ve never seen Alexander on the big screen, so it will be a treat regardless.
Living in Vermont really makes meeting Alexander and having him fall madly in love with me difficult.
Congrats to everyone who’s going. It looks like a really funny movie and I know I would love to see it even though Alex can’t be there. Unfortunately I live to far away to go. I really hope it makes it here to Kansas City but I won’t count on. Hopefully I can at least get my hands on the DVD when it becomes available.
